The DC020 from DeWalt brings light where there was darkness.

This DC020 is the latest addition to the DeWalt range of portable work lights and it uses mains power or a DeWalt battery to power its 38watt compact double D fluorescent lamp. Unlike the larger DeWalt light this one does not charge the battery but runs off it. It weighs less than the bigger light and is more compact.

As well as providing light in power down situations from any 12 to 18 volt DeWalt batteries it also provides two socket outlets for power tools. Fluorescent lights have a comparatively low power consumption, so you get a long run time from a fully charged battery, but this is dependent on the number of amp hours. The lamp is also cool to the touch and won’t set the curtains alight (Windsor Castle take note) so it is inherently safer and more comfortable to work in. The light is also whiter than halogen so therefore that bit nearer the colour spectrum of natural daylight.
